Friday Fragments (including followups and Facebook)

On Wednesday night, E slept from 6:30 pm to 5:30 am. SUCCESS!

On Wednesday night, I slept from 10 pm to ...4ish am due to the boulders I was sleeping on top of. Oh right, there's THAT problem with night weaning.....

On Thursday night.... we were up three times. ARG.

--------

A few days ago, on the way to school after yet another miserable struggle to get out the door, Z said to CG "You know why I don't like school?" and he said "No, why?" and she said "Because there's no toys there, only works. And you have to use the works the right way or you might break them. I like to play and you can't really play there."

We have an appointment to tour another preschool on Monday morning.

---------------

I don't know if it's my sleep deprivation or what but I have narrowly avoided posting several unfortunate status updates on Facebook lately. Yesterday I got halfway through typing

CBHM wonders if anyone else has one armpit that's smellier than the other

before I stopped myself.

This is why I don't Twitter. (or "tweet" or "twit" or WHATEVER. See? I don't even know the proper verb.)

---------------

I'm dying to hear what Erin named her baby girl! YAY!!

Oh, I'm so excited for Erin too! I can't wait.

Also, sounds like you've had a little progress with the nighttime stuff... I hope you keep seeing small improvements!

hahahahaha I love the Facebook status update. Maybe you should post it to see what people say. Hope you get some sleep soon and that E's night weaning goes well.

Hope the preschool searching yields quick results! How frustrating, for everyone. Kids should feel like they're allowed to play, geez!
And wow, as much as I'm eager for another baby (SO VERY EAGER) you just reminded me of another NOT FUN AT ALL aspect of babies- the boulder boobs. So, thank you. Every little anecdote like that helps me stay patient awhile longer! :)

I have even gotten as far as actually hitting enter on an unfortunate Facebook update. Good thing it allows you to delete them.

First, so jealous about the sleep. Second, haha on the crazy status updates. I actually write ones like that. Kudos to you for restraint. Third, I hope you find a more comfortable preschool situation. It is just my opinion, but learning at this age should be in the form of play not "work" and having fun is serious business for kids. It is how the world opens to them.

Oh man, that comment from Z is just a little heartbreaking. But, at least she can tell you what the problem is. Good luck with the preschool search

I'll be your overshare Facebook status partner in crime! Here's my best almost-got-posted status: Why don't they put a little buzz on that internal ultrasound dealie and make my time with it worthwhile?? Plus, I would have commented on your armpit status "yes! the right one! what's up with that??"

Also, GOOD FOR Z for stating her feelings so succinctly! Now you know EXACTLY what the problem is and can FIX IT! And good for you for raising such a verbally-talented gal.

Love you!

THANK YOU FOR THE LAUGH (referring to the fb status that didn't make it)!!!!!!!! Good luck at the preschool tour. Even MY heart sank a little when I read what Z said.

The armpit connected to the dominant hand has the most odor.

So humiliating to have my comment appear TWICE!!

Z's comment, gulp. but awesome that she's so communicative & open, & good to hear you're looking at other schools.

great to know I'm not alone on the one-stinkier-armpit front! & also glad to know why, thank you x2 grammalouie ;)

Sigh...when will preschools learn that kids don't want to be synergized and enertastic or other crap words they use to impress board members and people with money and (they think) parents, they just want to be kids?

I covet the milky fullness of your boulders. Hows that for creepy AND a good facebook status?

also, my non-dominant arm is the smellier, and one of my recent status updates was "I left the house with one plucked eyebrow and spitup on my shoulder, because I'm classy"

I have no shame, though, so there's that.

I am glad you found some clarity on the preschool issue. We have some concerns with the Italian preschool M goes to one day a week. I hope Mira can be as articulate as Z. And three times a night...I am right there with you and so very exhausted. I wish you luck!
