I am thrilled to announce the arrival of Eliza Louise CluelessButHopeful. She was born this morning, Tuesday May 19, 2009 at 7:32 am ( beating her scheduled induction by almost a half an hour).
She was 10 lbs 12 oz which ... OMG. You would not believe the wrinkled, dimpled, rolly polly dimensions of this giantess. I am a bit frightened by her, to be honest! She's a MONSTER!
Pics and labor stories (to delight, impress and TERRIFY) to follow once I can scrape my body out of this hospital bed.
Love and thanks to you all for your comments and emails. They have bolstered my spirits these last few weeks more than I can explain.

Hey, folks, may I, as a proud gramma, just brag a minute or two about this absolutely gorgeous baby. I mean, she is beautiful; she is healthy; she is pink-skinned, and she looks like she is three months old. My daughter was a complete hero during her labor. I mean it! (I'll leave it to her to add any juicy details she may feel she wants to share). Letting out a big sigh of relief and bursting with pride here in Pasadena!
Oh what wonderful news! I'm impressed already without hearing your tale of labor. Congratulations and I love the name!

That should have read yay for you, sorry.
Congrats! Don't worry about big babies, they're easier to handle. ;) That's what the nurse told us when we had a big one (still a lb. less than yours though). She said at least you won't have to worry about hanging onto this one, he's easier to hold.
Can't wait to see pictures and hear all about her arrival! Beautiful name! Congrats!
Holy crap!!!! You are the QUEEN of labor! I have been checking your blog every few hours or so, wondering what was going on. I'm so happy for you! That's a lovely name, too. :)
Okay congrats and all that, you know I love you blahblah... But a couple of thoughts: (1) my GOD, J, how did you not tip over in the last few weeks? (2) Hmmm, so Eliza's first impression on the world is to hang out where its good and comfy, WAY past her time despite every form of gentle-but-increasingly-insistent encouragment there is, only getting up off her arse and moving minutes before the BIG GUNS come out. Hmmmm...
Congratulations! And I LOVE the name!
Congratulations!!! Oh, my, you worked SO HARD to bring her here. Good work, mama!

Congratulations! I am so happy you got to get her out of there without inducing, and just in the knick of time, it sounds like! Over TEN pounds, holy crap! I don't know if you had an epidural, iv drugs, or possibly a hit of street drugs, but either way you are a freaking rock star for giving birth to that baby, lady! Yay!
And love the name, btw.
